September 10, 2026 BROOKLYN, NYÂ A quiet evening in Williamsburg shattered into absolute terror when a gunman ambushed and executed a teenager directly outside a local eatery, leaving a Brooklyn neighborhood reeling and police scrambling for answers.
The violent encounter erupted just before 10 p.m. along Havemeyer Street, right in front of the Gorkhali Nepalese restaurant. Jayden Velasquez, a local resident residing on South Street, was caught in a hail of gunfire without warning.
First responders from the NYPD’s 90th Precinct raced to 160 Havemeyer St. following desperate 911 calls from eyewitnesses. Upon arrival, officers discovered the young victim lying on the sidewalk suffering from multiple gruesome gunshot wounds to his face and torso.
Paramedics rushed Velasquez to Bellevue Hospital in a critical race against time, but medical personnel were unable to save him. He was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
