September 10, 2026 QUEENS, NY A tranquil Richmond Hill street shattered into chaos in the predawn hours of Wednesday morning when an armed crew staged a violent home invasion, pistol-whipping a resident and discharging a firearm as they made off with high-value loot.

The nightmare began around 4:10 a.m. near the intersection of 101st Street and 85th Road. Demonstrating a unsettling level of tactical intent, three unidentified suspects scaled a second-story balcony to force their way through an upper-level door. Once inside, the intruders immediately targeted a targeted stash of valuable collectible cards.

When a 30-year-old male resident moved to confront the intruders, the encounter turned brutal. One of the suspects drew a weapon and struck the man across the face with devastating force. Hearing the commotion, two women—aged 33 and 60—attempted to intervene, only to be shoved violently to the floor. The crooks ripped a cell phone directly from the hands of the 60-year-old woman before turning to flee.

The violence did not end with the assault. As the trio made their escape down the stairs and out into the darkness, one suspect turned back, leveled a handgun, and squeezed off a shot directly toward the victimized family. The bullet missed, sparing the household from a fatal tragedy by mere inches.

The suspects were last seen sprinting southbound along 101st Street into the early morning mist.

Officers from the NYPD’s 102nd Precinct rushed to the scene shortly after the gun blast echoed through the neighborhood. Paramedics transported the battered 30-year-old victim to Jamaica Hospital, where he received treatment for non-life-threatening facial injuries.

No arrests have been made, and the perpetrators remain at large. This violent breach highlights a troubling trend for the area: official department metrics show the 102nd Precinct has logged 105 robberies year-to-date—a sharp 12.9% spike compared to the same period last year.
