September 10, 2026 NEW YORK, NY A night out in the heart of Manhattan ended in unthinkable tragedy when an alleged drunk driver behind the wheel of an electric vehicle lost control, carving a path of destruction across multiple city blocks and leaving her best friend dead.

The horrific sequence unfolded at approximately 2:43 a.m. along East 42nd Street. Alejandra Paharsingh, 27, was behind the wheel of a 2024 Tesla Model Y heading eastbound when the vehicle veered wildly out of control near Madison Avenue.

The high-tech sedan transformed into an uncontrollable projectile, slamming into sidewalk scaffolding, shattering a MTA bus stop, and violently ripping a street mailbox from its concrete anchor. Unable to regain control, the mangled Tesla continued careening down 42nd Street for several city blocks before finally coming to a halt at Second Avenue.

Emergency medical crews rushed to the devastating scene, finding both Paharsingh and her 27-year-old passenger, Elise Suomi, suffering from severe, traumatic injuries.
