At approximately 12:42 a.m. on August 10, the pavement outside Karamelo bar—located at 141 Nagle Ave. in Inwood—turned into a war zone. What began as a volatile gathering quickly deteriorated into a vicious melee. Officers from the 34th Precinct flooded the scene following urgent 911 calls reporting an assault in progress amidst a chaotic crowd.
When police arrived, they discovered two 23-year-old men bleeding heavily on the pavement, both suffering from devastating knife wounds. One victim had been savagely slashed in the abdomen, while the other sustained a severe puncture wound to the torso.
A Desperate Race Against Time
Emergency Medical Services rushed the victim with the catastrophic abdominal wound to Harlem Hospital. Despite the frantic efforts of trauma surgeons, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. Authorities are withholding his identity pending family notification.
