April 27, 2026 BRONX, NY An afternoon commute turned into a waking nightmare last Monday when a routine trip on the BX35 bus ended with an 83-year-old man fighting for his life on a Bronx pavement.

A Momentary Bump, A Lifetime of Trauma

It happened in broad daylight. At approximately 1:30 p.m. near the intersection of Southern Boulevard and East 167 Street, an elderly man attempted to step off the bus—a simple action he’s likely done thousands of times. But a split-second, accidental bump into a fellow passenger ignited a fuse of "unbridled rage."

Police sources say the female suspect didn't just argue; she escalated the encounter into a stomach-churning display of violence. After a brief dispute, she allegedly:

  • Shoved the octogenarian to the concrete.

  • Repeatedly kicked the defenseless man in the head as he lay on the ground.

  • Fled the scene on foot, leaving her victim bleeding and dazed.

The Victim’s Condition

First responders rushed the senior to Saint Barnabas Hospital. While he is currently listed in stable condition, he remains scarred by bruising and lacerations to his head—a grim reminder of the city's deteriorating sense of safety.
