June 28, 2026 NEW YORK, NY The Big Apple erupted into a sea of absolute joy, color, and resilience this Sunday as thousands upon thousands lined Fifth Avenue for the historic annual NYC Pride March.
Plumes of glittering confetti filled the sky as a star-studded lineup of elected officials—including Governor Kathy Hochul, Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, and Attorney General Letitia James—kicked off the parade at 26th Street. The energy was electric, with the entire parade route pulsating to anthems ranging from Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” to a non-stop medley of Lady Gaga hits.
But beneath the music, dancing, and waving rainbow flags, this year's march carried a fierce and timely message that resonated across the globe.
The Meaning Behind "For All of Us"
While the NYC Pride March was originally established to honor the historic 1969 Stonewall Riots, it has evolved over the decades into a massive, global symbol of LGBTQIA+ unity and fierce activism.
This year, organizers unveiled an urgent theme: “For All of Us.” The inspiration came directly from a legendary quote by iconic transgender activist and Stonewall veteran Marsha P. Johnson:
"There is no pride for some of us without liberation for all of us."
According to NYC Pride organizers, the theme was intentionally selected to spotlight the ongoing, high-stakes battle protecting the most marginalized members of the queer community—specifically transgender and non-binary individuals—who are currently facing an unprecedented wave of legislative and political challenges across the country.
A Star-Studded Lineup of Grand Marshals
Leading the charge down the historic route was an incredible roster of 2026 Grand Marshals, bringing unmatched star power, advocacy, and representation to the front lines:
