October 14, 2026 NEW YORK, NY In a shocking breach of trust, a Manhattan neurologist is facing serious criminal charges after allegedly abusing vulnerable patients inside his medical office under the guise of routine treatment.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg announced Tuesday that 51-year-old Dr. Tariq Lamki has been formally indicted by a New York State Supreme Court grand jury on multiple counts of sexual assault.

The criminal indictment includes two counts each of first-degree sexual abuse, forcible touching, and third-degree sexual abuse stemming from incidents that allegedly occurred inside his examination room this past summer.

"A doctor’s appointment should never end in sexual abuse," District Attorney Bragg said in a hard-hitting statement following the unsealing of the charges.

Predatory Behavior Disguised as Medical Care

Dr. Lamki, who practiced at 14th Street Medical Arts—a prominent multi-specialty facility located near Stuyvesant Town-Peter Cooper Village—is accused of using his position of authority to prey on women seeking medical help.

According to prosecutors, the first incident took place on Aug. 25, followed by a second reported attack just days later on Sept. 2.

In both instances, prosecutors allege that Lamki instructed female patients to lie on an examination table inside a closed-door room. He then allegedly proceeded to touch them inappropriately over their clothing, fraudulently claiming the physical contact was part of a therapeutic medical massage.

Attempts to reach 14th Street Medical Arts for comment were unsuccessful, with a staff representative stating the facility had no official statement to provide regarding the indictment.

Authorities Fear There Could Be More Victims

While the current indictment focuses on two specific complainants, the District Attorney’s office confirmed that the criminal investigation remains active and ongoing, raising fears that additional patients may have been targeted.
