October 9, 2026 QUEENS, NY FOREST HILLS — A quiet afternoon yesterday, in Forest Hills turned into a terrifying scene of horror that ended in nothing short of a miracle after a 2-year-old boy survived a four-story fall onto a concrete city sidewalk.

The heart-stopping plunge occurred shortly after 2:00 p.m. at a residential apartment building located at 102-10 Queens Boulevard.

Emergency responders rushing to the scene discovered the toddler conscious on the sidewalk outside the building. In an astounding twist of fate that has stunned both witnesses and first responders, initial medical evaluations revealed the young child suffered only minor physical injuries despite falling nearly forty feet from the fourth-floor window.

Paramedics immediately stabilized the youngster before transporting him directly to Cohen Children's Medical Center, where medical staff confirmed he is expected to make a full recovery.

Safety Hazard Uncovered at the Scene

City officials inspecting the fourth-floor residence immediately following the incident made a critical discovery: the apartment window was completely devoid of mandatory child safety window guards.

Under New York City administrative code, building owners are legally required to install approved window guards in any residential unit inhabited by a child aged ten or younger, or upon written request from a tenant. It remains unclear whether the building management or the tenant failed to comply with local safety requirements.

The NYPD and city building inspectors have launched an active investigation into the exact sequence of events leading up to the fall, examining potential safety violations and whether criminal negligence charges will be filed.
