July 7, 2026 THE BRONX, NY A quiet Sunday evening near Claremont Park shattered into a scene of absolute horror this weekend, leaving one woman dead, another facing a lifetime behind bars, and a neighborhood demanding answers.

What began as a seemingly routine argument between friends rapidly escalated into a fatal bloodbath, proving once again how quickly domestic disputes can turn deadly.

A Sunday Night Shrouded in Violence

The peace of the holiday weekend came to a violent halt at approximately 8:22 p.m. on July 5. Emergency responders from the 44th Precinct rushed to a residence at the intersection of Teller Avenue and East 179th Street following a frantic 911 call reporting a stabbing.

What officers discovered inside the home was a scene of pure chaos:

  • The Victim: A 31-year-old woman suffering from a horrific stab wound to her chest and a deep slash wound to her neck.

  • The Response: EMS personnel worked desperately to save her, rushing her to Lincoln Hospital. Tragically, her injuries were too severe, and she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The victim's identity is currently being withheld by authorities pending the notification of her family.

From Friends to Foe: The Suspect in Custody

The woman allegedly holding the weapon was someone the victim knew well. Police identified the suspect as Lexus Bullock, 27.

According to preliminary investigative reports, Bullock and the victim were friends who became embroiled in an argument inside the home. While investigators are still working to uncover the exact motive, the dispute escalated with terrifying speed from words to fatal violence.

The Charges: Bullock was detained at the scene as a person of interest. Following intense questioning by detectives into the early hours of Monday morning, she was officially booked just after midnight. She now faces heavy charges, including:

  • Murder

  • Manslaughter

  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon

Crime Trends in the 44th Precinct

This sudden burst of violence stands in stark contrast to recent crime data for the area. Up until June 28, the 44th Precinct had reported a significant downward trend in homicides—recording just two murders year-to-date compared to six during the same period last year.

This tragic incident serves as a grim reminder that behind crime statistics are real human lives, cut short in a matter of seconds. Bullock now awaits her arraignment as a community grapples with a senseless loss.
