The terrifying encounter took place at approximately 9:20 p.m. inside the Progreso Latino deli, conveniently located near Fort Hamilton Parkway and 45th Street.
According to police reports, the 21-year-old victim was inside the establishment when the perpetrator suddenly approached her. Without warning, the attacker wrapped both hands tightly around her neck, attempting to choke the life out of her.
