April 22, 2026 NEW YORK, NY The neon lights of Times Square usually signal excitement, but late Tuesday night, they illuminated a scene of pure heartbreak. At approximately 11 p.m. on April 21, the "Crossroads of the World" became a crime scene after a 6-month-old baby girl was found completely alone, sitting in a stroller at the corner of West 44th Street and 7th Avenue.
While thousands of tourists surged past, the infant sat waiting—until a 911 call brought the Midtown South Precinct racing to the scene.
A Miracle at 44th and 7th
In a city that never sleeps, it is almost impossible to remain unseen, yet somehow this child was left at one of the busiest intersections on the planet.
-
The Discovery: Responding officers found the infant conscious and alert.
-
The Condition: She was immediately rushed to Northwell Greenwich Village Hospital.
-
The Status: In a glimmer of good news, the 6-month-old is listed in stable condition and is expected to be physically fine.
The Search for the Father
The investigation has quickly shifted from a rescue mission to a manhunt. Sources familiar with the case indicate that detectives are zeroing in on the baby’s father, believing he is the individual responsible for leaving the stroller behind and vanishing into the Midtown crowd.
Detectives are currently combing through a mountain of surveillance footage from the high-security "Ring of Steel" cameras that blanket the Times Square area. They are looking for the exact moment the stroller was parked and the path the suspect took to escape.
