The sky dimmed.
Not metaphorically. Literally.
The sun said, “Everybody pause.”
And suddenly it was dramatic lighting, existential tweets, and people standing outside in protective
glasses like the universe just soft-launched something.
You’ve kind of been doing the same thing.
Pulling back. Reassessing. Low battery mode. “I’m focusing on myself.”
And you should have.
You journaled like a Victorian widow.
Did the boundaries.
Muted people.
Unfollowed chaos.
Became unavailable in a way that felt holy.
Stunning.
But eclipses don’t cancel the sun. They interrupt it. And interruption is not retirement. It’s
recalibration. The light comes back. The real question is whether you plan to stay in shadow out of
habit.
The Rule
An eclipse is temporary. Isolation is a choice.
There is a difference between:
“I needed space to reset.”
and
“I built a beautiful emotional fortress and now I refuse to leave it.”
Self-care:
• logging off
• choosing peace
• declining nonsense
• protecting your energy
Avoidance:
• calling every invitation “distraction”
• romanticizing solitude like it’s a personality trait
• convincing yourself no one qualifies before they’ve even spoken
• acting like being asked to dinner is a federal offense

You did not elevate just to become unreachable. You elevated to interact differently.
The eclipse didn’t mean: “Never shine again.”
It meant: “Adjust your position.”
You were supposed to see what blocks your light. Not become the block.
You weren’t healing to hide. You were healing to return stronger.
You’ve done the work. Now apply it in real life.
