Why You’re Not Single, You’re Just in Pre-Trials
Let’s stop calling this “being single” like it’s a failure state.
You’re not waiting.
You’re not lacking.
You’re not in limbo.
You’re unassigned.
And there’s a difference.
The Rule
Availability is selective, not constant.
Other people hear “single” and immediately assume emergency mode.
They start asking questions like:
• So... what’s wrong?
• Are you dating, or are you like... single single?
• Have you tried the apps? (said like they’ve discovered fire)
• Do you want to be single right now?
• Are you scared of commitment?
• But don’t you miss having someone?
• How long has it been? (asked in the same tone people use for prison sentences)
Meanwhile, you’re just... fine.
Not spiraling.
No rushing.
Refusing to urgently explain your life choices to a panel of unpaid advisors.
Your calm is what’s unsettling.
Because when you’re not performing availability, people don’t know where to file you.
Pre-trials aren’t about judging anyone.
They’re about placement.
You don’t give full access to something that hasn’t earned context.
And you don’t confuse momentum with readiness.
It’s not about being hard to get.
You simply are not easy to rush anymore.
No one’s being punished.
Some people just didn’t qualify.
