August 31, 2026 THE BRONX, NY Blood stained the sidewalk just feet from a busy subway entrance on Saturday evening as a routine trip to the grocery store turned into a nightmare for a 13-year-old boy.
The terrifying encounter unfolded at approximately 5:23 p.m. right outside the C-Town storefront located at 1612 Westchester Ave. in the Bronx. According to police sources, the young victim was suddenly confronted and plunged into chaos when an assailant drove a knife into his stomach, leaving him bleeding on the pavement in plain view of horrified afternoon commuters and shoppers.
Officers from the 43rd Precinct swarmed the location following frantic 911 calls reporting an assault in progress. Emergency medical services rushed the wounded teenager to Jacobi Hospital, where medical staff managed to stabilize his condition. Investigators are still piecing together what sparked the sudden violence, as a definitive motive has not yet been released.
Swift police work led to the apprehension of two suspects shortly after the incident. A 15-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy were taken into custody and subsequently slapped with assault charges. Because of their young ages, law enforcement officials are withholding their identities as the investigation continues to unfold.
