April 6, 2026 BROOKLYN, NY What was supposed to be a peaceful Easter Sunday ended in a hail of gunfire and a desperate fight for survival on the streets of Brooklyn.

A Holy Day Shattered

The sun was just beginning to set at 6 p.m. on April 5 when the tranquility of the holiday was ripped apart. Outside a deli at 2961 Fulton St. in Cypress Hills, the sound of celebration was replaced by the deafening crack of multiple gunshots.

When the smoke cleared, two men—ages 30 and 50—lay on the pavement, their bodies riddled with bullets.

The Race Against Time

First responders rushed to the scene, finding a grisly sight near the deli entrance. Both victims were stabilized just enough to be hurried to Brookdale Hospital, where they currently remain in critical condition. As of now, it is a minute-by-minute battle for their lives.

Police Move In: Suspect Cornered

Officers from the 75th Precinct moved with lightning speed, locking down the area and scouring the neighborhood for the shooter. Their swift action paid off:

  • A 24-year-old man was intercepted and taken into custody as a person of interest.

  • A firearm was recovered at the scene, potentially the smoking gun in this holiday horror.

The Mystery of the Motive

While the cuffs have been slapped on a suspect and the sidewalk is littered with shell casings, one major question remains: Why? Police sources admit that a motive has not yet been established. Was this a targeted hit, a holiday dispute gone wrong, or a random act of violence? Detectives are currently interrogating the man in custody, hoping to peel back the layers of this senseless tragedy.
