July 14, 2026 THE BRONX, NY A quiet Sunday night in a Bronx neighborhood turned into a living nightmare when police breached an apartment door to find a scene straight out of a horror movie.
Late Sunday night, authorities discovered two heavily decomposed bodies hidden inside a residential building. The gruesome scene has sent shockwaves through the local community as investigators race to figure out exactly what happened behind those closed doors.
The Sickening Stench That Alerted Neighbors
The nightmare began unfolding at approximately 11:35 p.m. on July 12, 2026. Officers from the NYPD’s 47th Precinct responded to an urgent call regarding a foul, overpowering odor radiating from an apartment at 4065 Carpenter Ave. in the Wakefield section of the Bronx.
Neighbors had grown increasingly alarmed by the unmistakable smell of decay leaking into the hallway. When officers arrived and stepped inside the unit, their worst fears were instantly confirmed.
