July 28, 2026 QUEENS, NY A quiet Tuesday morning in Elmhurst shattered into absolute chaos when a hammer-wielding maniac forced his way into a local school, terrorized staff, and left an eight-year-old child hospitalized. The horrifying incident is now under active investigation by the NYPD as a potential hate crime amidst a frightening surge in anti-Semitic violence across New York City.

A Horrifying Chase Into a Safe Haven

Just before 10:50 a.m., horror unfolded outside the Jewish Institute of Queens, a school serving children from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade on Woodhaven Boulevard.

According to law enforcement sources, a 42-year-old emotionally disturbed man brandishing a hammer chased a terrified woman off the street and straight through the doors of the educational facility.
