July 14, 2025 BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — A 13-year-old boy is recovering after being slashed in the left shoulder Saturday night in a Brooklyn attack that has left residents concerned and police searching for answers. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. at the intersection of Lafayette Avenue and Malcolm X Boulevard, a busy thoroughfare in the heart of Bedford-Stuyvesant.

According to the New York City Police Department (NYPD), the young victim was attacked by a male suspect wielding a knife. While the weapon was not recovered at the scene, authorities quickly canvassed the area for clues. The suspect reportedly fled on foot and was described as having braids, wearing a white T-shirt, and ripped jeans.

The victim was treated for his injuries and is expected to make a full recovery, a small comfort in a distressing situation. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the slashing.
