June 29, 2025 BRONX, N.Y. – A 17-year-old, identified as Darrell Harris of the Bronx, was tragically shot and killed Tuesday evening in the Soundview section of the Bronx, authorities confirmed. The fatal incident occurred on June 24, sending shockwaves through the community.

New York City Police Department (NYPD) officers responded to a 911 call around 8:15 p.m. reporting gunfire near the intersection of Sheridan Boulevard and East 173rd Street within the 43rd Precinct. Upon arrival, emergency personnel discovered Harris with critical gunshot wounds to both his head and right arm.

First responders with EMS rushed the gravely injured teenager to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi. Despite their efforts, Harris succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
