Hate in Gravesend: Biker Leaves Red Swastikas on School Walls

November 6, 2025 Gravesend, Brooklyn is reeling after a shocking display of antisemitism targeting a local Yeshivah School early Wednesday morning. NYPD Hate Crimes are leading the search for the perpetrator after surveillance video captured the moment the hate was unleashed.

The Evidence: A Bike Ride of Vandalism

The footage shows a lone man on a bicycle traveling down McDonald Avenue. He paused just long enough to spray-paint vile swastikas in red paint across the exterior of the school. This act of hate was met swiftly by community members who placed an Israeli flag over one of the symbols as a powerful statement.

Midwood Hit Next: Cemetery Defaced in Coordinated Attack

The terror wasn't contained to Gravesend. In a chilling escalation, similar swastika graffiti was discovered painted on construction barriers and a nearby concrete wall outside a Jewish cemetery in Midwood. This suggests a coordinated, targeted series of attacks against the Jewish community.

Governor Hochul Demands Justice: "You Will Be Caught"

The incident drew immediate condemnation from the highest levels of state government. Governor Kathy Hochul held a press conference to issue a strong warning:

"You cannot engage in such hatred in our great state... and think you will get away with it, you will be caught and you will be punished."

The NYPD Hate Crimes task force is working around the clock, but as of now, no arrests have been made. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) CEO, Jonathan Greenblatt, reinforced the urgency, stating his focus is solely on ensuring the safety of Jewish New Yorkers.
