The incident, which occurred around 3:30 p.m. outside the popular Crotona Park Pool, sent shockwaves through the community enjoying a summer day.
New York Police Department (NYPD) officials confirmed that shots rang out on Fulton Avenue, directly adjacent to the Crotona Park Pool, located at Fulton Avenue and 173rd Street. The Crotona Park Pool, a popular summer destination, operates daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with a scheduled cleaning break from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. The timing of the shooting, shortly after the cleaning break began, raises questions about potential witnesses and the immediate impact on pool-goers.
