September 24, 2025 BRONX, NY — The search is on for two teenage gunmen who rode up on Citi Bikes and brazenly shot a woman at a busy Bronx intersection earlier this month. The NYPD released shocking new video and images of the perpetrators, hoping the public can help identify them.
The harrowing incident occurred around 6:40 p.m. on September 9 at the corner of East 188th Street and Webster Avenue in Fordham. According to police, two young males on Citi Bikes approached the intersection and opened fire, striking a 44-year-old woman in the arm. It remains unclear if she was the intended target.
After the shooting, the suspects fled eastbound on East 188th Street, still on the stolen bikes. Officers from the 48th Precinct quickly responded to the scene and transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital, where she was treated and is now in stable condition.
Police describe the shooters as males between 16 and 18 years old. One suspect was wearing a black sweatshirt and gray sweatpants, while the other wore a black t-shirt and blue jeans.
