October 14, 2025 BROOKLYN, NY — Another day, another senseless act of street violence staining the pavement of our city. On Tuesday, October 7, 2025, just after the lunch rush at 12:02 p.m., an otherwise tranquil afternoon in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, shattered into chaos. I’ve covered the 73rd Precinct for decades, and what I’m seeing now is a frightening trend: brazen attacks against vulnerable citizens.

This time, the victim is a 65-year-old man ambushed moments after exiting a residential building near the intersection of Prospect Place and Thomas S. Boyland Street.

What We Know About the Attack

Sources within the NYPD confirm the incident began not with a robbery, but with a verbal dispute. The details leading up to the argument remain tight-lipped, but as any veteran reporter knows, it often takes only a spark to ignite a powder keg on the street.

The confrontation quickly turned physical. The unidentified suspect, described by law enforcement as a "brazen brute," allegedly brandished an unknown object—a blunt instrument, a rock, maybe a piece of wood—and used it to strike the victim's hand. The result? Pain and swelling, though thankfully, the injuries were minor. In a move that speaks volumes about his shock and perhaps his resilience, the senior citizen refused medical attention at the scene.

The assailant wasted no time, fleeing the scene west on Prospect Place.

Manhunt Underway: Can YOU Identify This Suspect?

The NYPD is now throwing down the gauntlet, asking for the public's help to collar this perpetrator before he strikes again. On Sunday, October 12, authorities released a clear image of the alleged suspect, and they want him identified yesterday.
