The NYPD has released photos of the suspects, sparking a massive citywide manhunt less than 24 hours after the attack targeting one of their own.
Ambushed in the Dark
The shocking confrontation erupted at approximately 12:40 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, outside 39-26 Bell Boulevard—a bustling dining and nightlife corridor in Bayside.
The 30-year-old victim, an active NYPD officer stationed at Brooklyn's 69th Precinct, was walking down the street with a friend when danger silently closed in from behind.
According to sources close to the investigation, two unidentified men rode up on a scooter and uttered something in Spanish before launching an unprovoked attack:
