June 19, 2026 THE BRONX A quiet Thursday night in the Bronx shattered into absolute chaos when a ruthless ambush left two men dead just steps from a busy subway station, triggering a massive police manhunt for the gunmen currently roaming the city streets.
The bloodbath unfolded at approximately 10:10 p.m. on June 18, directly in front of 1643 Westchester Avenue—a stone's throw from the Morrison Avenue 6 train station in Soundview. What was a routine evening for commuters instantly turned into a horror scene as a hail of gunfire rang out, leaving two victims bleeding on the pavement.
Left For Dead: The Grim Scene at Westchester Ave
Responding to a barrage of frantic 911 calls, officers from the 43rd Precinct rushed to the location. Upon arrival, they discovered a gruesome scene.
Two men—aged 53 and 43—were found lying on the ground, both having been shot multiple times across their bodies in what bears all the hallmarks of a targeted execution.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) rushed both victims to Jacobi Hospital in a desperate bid to save their lives. Tragically, the injuries were too severe; both men were pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Authorities are currently withholding their identities until their families can be notified.
A Total Mystery: Who Were the Victims?
As dawn broke on Friday morning, detectives were left scrambling for answers. Police have yet to release any information regarding whether the two men knew each other, were walking together, or if one was simply an innocent bystander caught in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The Big Question: What triggered this sudden explosion of violence? The motive for the double shooting remains entirely unknown and under intense investigation.
The Hunt is On: How You Can Help
As of right now, the killers remain at large. No arrests have been made, and police are flooding the area looking for surveillance footage and witnesses who can identify the shooters before they strike again.
The NYPD is pleading with the public for any information that could blow this case wide open. If you saw anything suspicious near the Morrison Avenue station on Thursday night, your tip could be the missing piece of the puzzle.
