August 15, 2026 QUEENS, NY A routine parole compliance check in Queens blew the lid off a nightmare residence on Thursday, exposing a horrifying scene complete with a starving, rotting dog, illegal weapons, and a stash of crystal meth.
Police sources confirmed that 55-year-old parolee Wei Lin, who had been out on parole since April 2025, was hit with a barrage of serious charges following the grim discovery at his College Point Boulevard home. Alongside charges of aggravated cruelty to animals, Lin faces three counts of criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance after investigators uncovered a defaced Smith & Wesson handgun and methamphetamine.
A Putrid Odor And A Shocking Discovery
The nightmare unraveled when parole officers dropped by the residence for a scheduled check and were instantly slammed by an overwhelming, putrid stench. Authorities entering the property were forced to wear face masks and latex gloves, swatting away flies as the foul odor spilled out onto the street.
Inside, officers made the sickening discovery of a deceased dog that appeared to have been left to starve. Neighbors revealed that the animal had vanished from sight long before the raid, alleging that Lin had a notorious history of abusing a German Shepherd on the property.
"He treats his dog pretty badly. He would kick the dog when it would not listen to him," next-door neighbor Lionel Chok said, adding that Lin routinely left the animal outside in freezing cold or scorching heat.
Meth, Weapons, And Domestic Chaos
According to local residents, the suspect's erratic behavior was fueled by severe substance abuse. "He's on crystal meth, dude. He's not a normal person," said neighbor Pete Pagan, who noted a foul smell lingering in the area that he initially mistook for mold.
Investigators also learned that domestic turmoil preceded the raid, noting that Lin had recently attacked and threatened his wife with a firearm after she caught him cheating.
Despite a standing restraining order, Lin's 40-year-old wife, Yan Lin, was living at the home and was also taken into custody. She was charged alongside her husband with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
