April 23, 2026 BRONX, NY A quiet evening in Highbridge turned into a scene of pure terror last week, and tonight, the man responsible is still walking the streets.

New York’s Finest have just released a chilling sketch of a suspect they say didn't just rob a 55-year-old woman—he put her through a "horrendous" ordeal of violence that has left the local community reeling.

A Walk Into a Trap

It happened at approximately 7:00 p.m. on April 17. While most of the city was heading home for dinner, the victim was inside an apartment building near West 164th Street and Ogden Avenue.

Police sources say the suspect didn't just want her money. He allegedly ambushed the woman, unleashing a brutal barrage of punches and kicks to her head and body. The assault escalated into a nightmare: the man beat and raped her in a display of violence that has shocked even veteran investigators in the 44th Precinct.

Robbed of Everything

As if the physical violation wasn't enough, the attacker proved his heartlessness by looting the victim while she suffered. Before fleeing into the night, he snatched:

  • $50 in cold hard cash.

  • A yellow metal chain with a metal cross pendant right from her neck.

The victim was rushed to a local hospital in stable condition but covered in bruises and nursing "immense physical pain." Sources close to the investigation revealed a frightening detail: she didn't even live in the building. She was simply in the wrong place at the time a predator was hunting.

THE FACE OF THE SUSPECT: Do You Recognize Him?

The NYPD is leaning on the public to help identify this man before he strikes again. He is described as:

  • Age: 30 to 40 years old.

  • Height: Approximately 5’7”.

  • Build: Medium.

  • Features: Sporting a goatee.

  • Last Seen Wearing: A gray New York Yankees hat.
