July 14, 2025 Bronx, NY – The New York City Police Department (NYPD) is reaching out to the community for assistance in identifying two individuals wanted in connection with a brazen robbery that recently occurred in the University Heights section of the Bronx. Authorities have released images of the suspects, urging anyone with information to come forward.
The incident took place on Sunday, June 29, around 5:45 p.m., when a 40-year-old male victim was standing in front of 2255 Jerome Avenue. According to police, he was approached by two unidentified individuals riding a two-wheeled, motorized bike.
"The first individual displayed a firearm and forcibly removed the victim's necklaces valued at approximately $2,200," an NYPD spokesperson confirmed. Following the theft, the suspects quickly fled the scene on their motorized bike, traveling westbound on Buchanan Place to an unknown destination. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
Suspect Descriptions
Investigators have provided descriptions of both individuals involved:
- Suspect 1: Described as male, he was last seen wearing a black ski-mask, a black helmet, a white tank top, black shorts, and black and white sneakers.
- Suspect 2: Also described as male, he was last seen wearing a black face mask, a black helmet, a black sweatshirt, blue jeans, and white and black sneakers.
