June 20, 2026 NEW YORK, NY The glitz, glamor, and multi-million dollar corporate floats of New York City’s mainstream Pride March are about to get a massive reality check.

On Sunday, June 28, a fierce, unfiltered wave of resistance will flood the streets of Manhattan. The Reclaim Pride Coalition is officially launching its eighth annual Queer Liberation March—and they are locking the gates on big business and the NYPD.

This isn't your average rainbow parade. This is a political powder keg designed to strip Pride down to its rebellious, riotous roots. Here is everything you need to know about the radical march shaking up the city.

The Anti-Corporate Takeover: When and Where

While the mainstream Heritage of Pride parade dances through the city earlier in the day, the real rebellion kicks off exactly three hours later.

  • Assembly Time: 2:30 p.m.

  • Step-off Time: 3:00 p.m.

  • Starting Point: Union Square West

  • The Route: Marching fiercely south down Broadway, culminating in a massive rally at Foley Square.

By explicitly banning police presence and corporate sponsorship, organizers are drawing a line in the asphalt. For them, Pride isn’t a marketing opportunity for billionaires—it’s a fight for survival.

"Breaking the Chains": A Theme of Pure Defiance

This year's march comes at a time of historic tension. Operating under the explosive banner, “Breaking the Chains of War and Oppression for Trans and Immigrant Rights,” the event is taking direct aim at the status quo.

Organizers say the gloves are off. The march is a direct response to a coordinated, nationwide onslaught of legislation targeting transgender, gender non-conforming, and non-binary (TGNCNB) Americans—from bans on life-saving gender-affirming care to restrictions on sports and military service.

“Trans people are routinely used as scapegoats by those in power seeking to avoid accountability,” warns Jade Runk, a march organizer and president of TQVoices. “I refuse to sit quietly and allow it to continue. We all deserve better than this.”

A Global War Against "Fascist Authoritarianism"

But the anger driving this year's mobilization extends far beyond U.S. borders. The Reclaim Pride Coalition is linking arms with global liberation movements, shining a harsh spotlight on the systemic violence plaguing Black and Brown immigrant communities worldwide.

According to the movement's founders, the time for polite politics is officially over.

"This year’s march is more important than ever, as we see virtually every advancement made over the last 100 years in civil rights, human rights, and post-colonial global stability being dismantled," says Jay W. Walker, co-founder of the Queer Liberation March. "This is an opportunity for our communities to stand together against this rise of fascist authoritarianism at home and abroad."

How to Join the Resistance

This is a grassroots, volunteer-fueled machine. For those tired of the commercialized spectacle and ready to hit the pavement for actual political warfare, the Reclaim Pride Coalition is actively recruiting organizers, marshals, and boots on the ground.
