August 3, 2025 The Bronx, NY A Bronx mother and her son are facing serious charges in the brutal stabbing death of a 21-year-old woman, whose body was discovered last week in a Grand Concourse apartment. The arrests come as a small comfort to the victim’s grieving family, who are grappling with an unimaginable loss.
Nadia Jorge, 44, and her son, Robert Strother, 22, have both been charged with murder, manslaughter, and concealment of a human corpse. The victim, Princesa Encarnacion-Soto, shared a residence with the mother and son, according to police.
The tragic incident unfolded on July 22 when officers responded to an assault report at an apartment building. They discovered Encarnacion-Soto with multiple stab wounds. She was rushed to a nearby hospital but did not survive her injuries.
Jorge was taken into custody shortly after the initial discovery, but her son, Strother—identified by police as Encarnacion-Soto's boyfriend—remained at large. The search ended on Friday when an eagle-eyed officer recognized Strother near the very building where the killing took place.
While the arrests bring some closure, Encarnacion-Soto’s mother, who has spoken out about her daughter’s death, emphasized that justice will not bring her child back. "Nothing will bring back my daughter," she said, expressing gratitude for the police department's efforts while highlighting the profound pain of her loss.
Attorney information for the mother and son was not immediately available.
