June 12, 2026 QUEENS, NY What was supposed to be a calm, late-spring evening at a popular Queens waterfront park descended into pure terror Thursday night, leaving a young man dead and a community on edge.

At around 8:30 p.m. on June 11, the tranquil atmosphere of Little Bay Park in Bayside was violently shattered. Law enforcement sources report that a massive dispute erupted among a large crowd gathered near the water. The argument quickly took a deadly turn.

When officers from the 109th Precinct rushed to the scene, they discovered a young man—estimated to be between 17 and 25 years old—collapsed on the ground, suffering from a single, devastating stab wound to his back.

Emergency medical services flooded the area and rushed the victim to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens in critical condition. Tragically, doctors could not save him, and he was pronounced dead a short time later.

20 Suspects on Mopeds: A Swarm of Chaos

As the knife plunged into the young victim, the peaceful park transformed into a frantic escape route. Witnesses described a chaotic and terrifying scene as nearly 20 people scattered and fled into the night.

According to initial reports, a chilling detail has emerged about how the group managed to escape:

  • The overwhelming majority of the suspects were seen fleeing the park on mopeds.

  • In their haste to escape the arriving police, the attackers abandoned two mopeds right next to the dying victim's body.

  • No weapons were recovered at the scene, suggesting the killer took the blade with them as they sped away.

Investigation Underway: Killer Still at Large

As of Friday morning, the killer and the mob remain in hiding. No arrests have been made, and the identity of the young victim has not yet been established.
