December 19, 2025 KENSINGTON, BROOKLYN — Late Thursday night, a Kensington shop became the stage for a brutal display of violence that has neighbors on edge and two attackers still on the loose.
The Attack: A Life-Changing Split Second
Just before 11:25 p.m., while most of the neighborhood was tucked away, a 27-year-old man was cornered inside a bodega. In a flash of steel, the victim was stabbed twice—once in the chest and once in the abdomen.
The precision and brutality of the wounds suggest this wasn't just a scuffle; it was a targeted strike that left the young man bleeding out on the linoleum floor.
The Aftermath: A Narrow Escape
Emergency responders acted fast, rushing the victim to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. In what can only be described as a miracle given the location of his wounds, he is currently listed in stable condition.
The Hunt is On: Suspects at Large
As the sirens faded, the search began. NYPD reports that two suspects fled the scene on foot, disappearing into the night as they ran northbound on Beverley Road.
As of this morning:
-
Arrests Made: 0
-
Suspect Status: Fugitive
-
Police Presence: High-alert patrol in the Kensington area
A Neighborhood at a Crossroads
Kensington is known for being a quiet, family-oriented pocket of Brooklyn. But when a routine trip to the store ends in a double-stabbing, it shakes the foundation of that peace. We are seeing a brazenness in street crime that doesn't care about witnesses or the proximity of residential homes.
