August 18, 2025 BRONX, NY — The New York Police Department has launched an intense manhunt for a teenage suspect following a brutal sexual assault on a 15-year-old girl in the Bronx. The horrific incident, which occurred last weekend, has sent shockwaves through the Charlotte Gardens community and left residents on edge.
According to police, the assault unfolded around 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, inside a home near Prospect Avenue and East 170th Street. The victim was reportedly attacked and raped before her assailant fled the scene. He remains at large, and authorities are now racing against the clock to bring him into custody.
The 15-year-old girl was taken to Lincoln Hospital by private transport, where she was treated for her injuries and is listed in stable condition.
Suspect Description and Public Appeal
Investigators have released a detailed description of the suspect, whom they believe to be a male between 17 and 19 years old. He is described as having a slim build, standing approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall. At the time of the assault, he was seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, light-colored shorts, white shoes, and a white knit hat.
Detectives have also obtained and released surveillance footage showing the suspect walking across a street, hoping that a member of the public will recognize him. The NYPD is urging anyone with information to come forward immediately.
