November 17, 2025 BRONX, NY – Police are searching for a gunman responsible for shooting a 38-year-old man in the Bronx after the victim refused to stop and answer a question.

The violent incident took place around 8:45 p.m. on November 8th, outside the Essen Health Care Medical Clinic located at 1550 University Avenue.

Details of the Attack

According to law enforcement sources, the male perpetrator approached the 38-year-old victim and attempted to initiate a conversation. The victim, however, walked away and began speaking with another man nearby.

Enraged by the dismissal, the suspect reportedly followed the victim, then pulled out a firearm and opened fire, striking the victim multiple times throughout his body.

Officers from the 46th Precinct responded to the location. EMS transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition following treatment.

Suspect Description and Manhunt

The gunman fled the scene on foot, traveling eastbound on Featherbed Lane and then southbound on Nelson Avenue.

Police have released a description of the suspect, who was last seen wearing a black jacket, dark-colored pants, blue and white sneakers, and a knit hat. The individual was also reported to be walking with a cane.

The investigation remains ongoing, and no arrests have been made.

The NYPD is urging anyone with information about the case or the identity of the shooter to come forward.
