November 25, 2025 MORRIS HEIGHTS, THE BRONX – The tranquil rhythm of a Sunday evening was shattered by a hail of bullets this week, leaving a 24-year-old man dead in a senseless, execution-style shooting right outside a quiet apartment building.
Veteran detectives from the Bronx are in a desperate, high-stakes hunt for the gunman responsible for this brutal act of violence, a crime that has sent a jolt of fear through the Morris Heights community.
The Deadly Scene: 8 PM Ambush
The nightmare unfolded just before 8 p.m. on Sunday, November 23rd, in front of the residence at 160 West 174th Street.
Officers from the NYPD's 46th Precinct, responding to a frantic 911 call reporting an assault in progress, arrived to a horrific discovery. They found the victim, identified as Randy Blanche of nearby East 178th Street, lying unconscious and unresponsive. Tragically, police sources confirmed Blanche had been shot multiple times in the head—a chilling sign of a targeted, lethal attack.
Motive a Mystery: What Led to the Execution?
As of Monday morning, the circumstances leading up to the deadly ambush remain a complete enigma, baffling seasoned police investigators. Was this a personal dispute? A gang-related hit? A robbery gone wrong?
Police have yet to release any description of the suspect, suggesting the shooter vanished into the night immediately after the crime.
THE INVESTIGATION IS ACTIVE AND ONGOING. Authorities have confirmed that no arrests have been made in connection with this brazen killing.
A Stain on a Safer Precinct
This heinous homicide casts a grim shadow over the 46th Precinct, which has otherwise seen promising trends in crime reduction this year. Through November 16th, the precinct reported only seven homicides, a monumental drop from 25 during the same period last year. Shooting incidents have also plummeted by an astonishing 55.3%.
This one act of cold-blooded violence threatens to reverse that positive momentum.
