October 19, 2026 THE BRONX, NY Late-night passion turned into a terrifying bloodbath in the Bronx after a 68-year-old man allegedly caught his older girlfriend with another man inside a Claremont apartment, unleashing a hail of bullets in a fit of rage.

The violent domestic feud exploded just before 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, inside an apartment building at 3970 3rd Avenue. Panicked neighbors dialed 911 as gunfire echoed through the corridors, bringing officers from the NYPD's 42nd Precinct rushing to the scene.

A Bloody Scene and an ESU Standoff

Upon arrival, responding officers encountered a harrowing scene: spent shell casings littering the hallway floor and a gunman barricaded inside a residential unit.

Recognizing the immediate danger, the NYPD’s heavily armed Emergency Service Unit (ESU) was deployed to handle the crisis. After tactical team members breached the apartment, they discovered two victims bleeding from serious gunshot wounds:

  • A 70-year-old woman, shot directly in the abdomen.

  • A 60-year-old man, shot multiple times throughout his torso.

Emergency responders rushed both victims to Saint Barnabas Hospital. Despite the severity of their injuries, medical personnel reported that both individuals are in stable condition and are expected to survive.

Secret Romances Revealed

Investigators quickly uncovered the tangled web of relationships behind the sudden violence. Law enforcement sources report that the shooter—identified as 68-year-old Kenneth Morgan—was the longtime boyfriend of the 70-year-old female victim.

However, police believe the 60-year-old victim was also involved in a romantic relationship with the woman, setting the stage for a disastrous confrontation when Morgan caught the pair together inside the apartment.
