November 25, 2025 MALBA, QUEENS – The tranquil, upscale streets of Malba were transformed into a war zone early Sunday morning when a massive, violent street takeover—involving an estimated 100 participants—descended upon the community near Whitestone.
What started as a display of dangerous, illegal stunts ("donuts") quickly escalated into a terrifying siege, resulting in the brutal assault of a homeowner and the shocking torching of a neighborhood security guard's vehicle.
The Home Invasion: "This is How We Do Things in the Bronx"
The terrifying ordeal was triggered when a brave homeowner attempted to protect his property.
The man, whose identity is being withheld for his safety, watched in disbelief as four to five cars—part of the larger street racing contingent—pulled up outside his house, with multiple young individuals congregating on his lawn.
When he simply asked them to leave his property, the situation turned violent with frightening speed.
"I was trying to watch my back because I knew there was people behind me and the next thing I knew...all of a sudden they just stopped," he recounted.
He was instantly surrounded by at least five to ten assailants and violently attacked. The homeowner sustained severe injuries, including a fractured shoulder, fractured ribs, and a fractured bone in his face. He now wears an arm sling as detectives investigate the savage attack.
Councilwoman Vickie Paladino reported a terrifying taunt from one of the participants, brandishing a flag: "One guy was carrying a big, big black flag with white writing on it and said we're from the Bronx and this is how we do things in the Bronx."
Chaos and Carnage: Security Car Torched
The violence didn't stop with the brutal assault. In a shocking act of deliberate vandalism, the mob targeted and stole the neighborhood security guard's vehicle before setting it on fire. This act stripped the quiet community of its immediate protection and solidified the event as a deliberate invasion.
Neighbors are deeply disturbed. Larry Rusch, a local resident, lamented the violence: "My friend got hurt. He's the one that lives down there...He got beat up pretty bad and it's terrible. We don't need that in this neighborhood.

Was the NYPD Response Too Slow?
Adding insult to injury, the injured homeowner expressed profound disappointment regarding the police response time. The sheer volume and violence of the hundred-person mob overwhelmed the community, and the victims felt abandoned in their time of need.
"I have great respect but this unfortunately someone dropped the ball," the victim stated, questioning the emergency protocol that allowed the chaos to rage before intervention.
The Hunt for the Assailants
On Monday, NYPD detectives returned to the affluent neighborhood, canvassing the streets for vital evidence. They are under immense pressure to identify and arrest the participants responsible for the assault and the arson.
