July 25, 2025 Bronx, NY – A chilling new development has emerged in the brutal murder of a 21-year-old woman found dead in a Bronx stairwell, with police now suggesting she may have endured weeks of torture before her death. Princesa Incarnacion-Soto, originally from Rhode Island, was discovered with severe stab wounds and blunt force trauma on July 22, sparking an intense investigation that has led to disturbing revelations.

Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny revealed Thursday that Incarnacion-Soto's body showed signs of both fresh and healing wounds, indicating a prolonged period of suffering. "The wounds themselves were inflicted for pain, not to kill," Kenny stated, painting a grim picture of systematic abuse.

A House of Horrors Uncovered

The investigation quickly led detectives to an apartment within the same building, 2295 Grand Concourse, where Incarnacion-Soto had reportedly been staying with her boyfriend's mother, 54-year-old Nadia Jorge, and her son, 27-year-old Robert Strother.

Upon questioning Jorge, police discovered a scene that hinted at unimaginable torment. "The detectives see blood on a mattress and sheets in a bedroom," Chief Kenny recounted. When confronted, Jorge reportedly became combative and asked detectives to leave. A subsequent search warrant uncovered a trove of gruesome evidence: "bloody clothing, bloody sheeting, bloody blankets, bloody rope and bloody bungee cords."

Investigators now believe Incarnacion-Soto was tied down to a bed for an extended period, the recovering wounds on her body testament to the sustained abuse she allegedly suffered.

Prime Suspect on the Run, Mother in Custody

While Nadia Jorge is currently in police custody, accused of attempting to clean up the crime scene (cops reported a distinct smell of bleach) and changing the victim's clothing before the body was dumped, the prime suspect in the murder, Robert Strother, remains at large.

Police believe Incarnacion-Soto had previously left her relationship with Strother but had returned to the Bronx in July. This tragic return may have reignited a pattern of abuse that investigators suggest had been ongoing for some time.

Fabricated Rape Allegation: A Chilling Precedent?

Further complicating the case, Chief Kenny disclosed that Strother had allegedly filed a false police report in May, claiming Incarnacion-Soto had been raped by a group of males on a rooftop. Detectives now suspect this was a manipulative tactic to cover up injuries he had inflicted upon her. "The name he gave that person was in jail at the time, so it could be that he injured her to the point she needed medical care and fabricated this rape story," Kenny explained.

As the investigation continues, authorities are urging anyone with information on Robert Strother's whereabouts to come forward. This case serves as a stark reminder of the hidden horrors that can lurk behind closed doors, and the relentless pursuit of justice for victims of unimaginable violence.
