May 2, 2026 BRONX, NY The world of social media fame has collided with a real-life nightmare on the streets of the Bronx. Andrew Tollinche, the 22-year-old TikTok personality known to his followers as "DGB," stood before a judge on Friday to face murder charges. The victim? A 17-year-old boy with a bright future, whose life was cut short just feet from the suspect's front door.
A Sunset Slaughter on Beach Avenue
The horror unfolded Wednesday afternoon. Jonathan Melo, known to his family as "JJ," was doing what any teenager should be doing: riding scooters with friends. But a chance encounter at Beach Avenue turned a sunny afternoon into a bloodbath.
Surveillance footage captured the chilling aftermath, showing the 17-year-old slumped on the pavement, desperately waiting for help that wouldn't arrive in time.
"He Instigated All the Fun Stuff"
While the internet swirls with rumors, JJ’s mother, Raquel Melo, is fighting to protect her son’s legacy. JJ was no street brawler; he was a student at AECI 1, a charter school for engineering and architecture, just weeks away from graduation.
"I had a wonderful son," his mother said through her grief. "He was the clown of the house. He instigated all the fun stuff."
According to his mother, the violence wasn't a planned "social media beef." She claims JJ and his friends simply crossed paths with Tollinche while the TikToker was embroiled in a separate argument with someone in a car. Allegedly, Tollinche retreated into his building, re-emerged with a blade, and plunged it into the teenager's back.
The Dark Side of TikTok Fame
The case has pulled back the curtain on a disturbing trend surrounding Tollinche. In recent months, his residence had become a landmark for "trolls" and "clout-chasers" who traveled to his building specifically to taunt him for TikTok views.
While online speculation suggests the stabbing was the climax of an internet feud, Raquel Melo is shutting those "false narratives" down. She insists there is zero evidence her son was involved in the digital harassment of the TikTok star.

A Record of Violence
This isn't Tollinche's first brush with the law. Investigations have revealed a dark past, including a previous arrest for raping a minor. Now, he faces a litany of new charges that could put him behind bars for life:
-
Murder
-
Manslaughter
-
Criminal Possession of a Weapon
As the Bronx community mourns a future architect and real estate hopeful, a mother's plea rings out for the justice her son deserves.
Do you think social media "trolling" has gone too far? Is the digital world fueling real-world violence?
