Early Tuesday morning, a violent robbery spree in Flatbush, Brooklyn, left one man injured by gunfire and two others shaken after being threatened by an unidentified suspect. Police are actively investigating the incidents and urging anyone with information to come forward.
Details of the Robberies:
The series of alarming events unfolded quickly across several locations in the Flatbush neighborhood:
- Church Avenue Shooting (Approx. 4:10 AM): The first incident occurred in front of 2816 Church Avenue. A 44-year-old man sitting in his vehicle was approached by the suspect, who demanded his belongings. A struggle ensued, tragically escalating when the suspect brandished a firearm and shot the victim in the left leg. The injured man was able to seek medical attention at NYC Health and Hospitals/Kings County and is currently in stable condition.
- Church Avenue Threat and Robbery (Following Shooting): After fleeing the first scene on foot, the same suspect confronted a 32-year-old man in front of 2705 Church Avenue. This time, the suspect threatened the victim and forcibly stole $20 before again fleeing on foot.
- Martense Street Attempted Robbery (Minutes Later): The suspect continued his spree, approaching a 24-year-old woman parked in her vehicle in front of 104 Martense Street. He brandished a firearm and demanded money. Fortunately, the suspect was unsuccessful in obtaining any property from this third victim and fled westbound on Martense Street.
Victims' Condition and Police Response:
While one victim suffered a gunshot wound, the other two individuals who were threatened thankfully declined medical attention and were not physically injured.
The suspect remains at large, and the New York Police Department (NYPD) has not yet released a detailed description. The investigation into these disturbing incidents is ongoing.
