December 3, 2025 THE BRONX, N.Y. – It’s a nightmare scenario that plays out far too often in our city, but the sheer brutality of this recent attack in a public housing complex has sent a chilling message through the community. On the morning of November 17th, at a NYCHA building near East 143rd Street and Third Avenue, an innocent 63-year-old resident became the victim of a calculated and extraordinarily violent home invasion.
At approximately 6:05 a.m., three armed assailants allegedly ambushed the man, shoving him into his own apartment. But the violation didn't end there. In a shocking display of ruthlessness, authorities confirm the suspects zip-tied the victim's hands and feet before repeatedly striking him on the head with a gun. This level of violence against a senior citizen is not just a crime—it's a moral outrage. The victim required immediate hospitalization for his injuries.
Looted and Left: The Suspects’ Bold Escape
This was clearly a smash-and-grab operation with a terrifying twist of violence. After the attack, the trio made off with the victim’s jewelry, cellphone, credit cards, and a yet-to-be-disclosed amount of cash.
As any veteran beat reporter can tell you, the use of stolen credit cards often provides the first vital thread in an investigation. In this case, the thieves were so brazen they immediately used the victim's cards to make purchases before fleeing the scene.
NYPD Releases VITAL Clues: Can YOU Help Identify These Thugs?
Police have now released surveillance footage showing two of the suspects—both wearing black face masks and carrying conspicuously large, white shopping bags—entering the building. This footage is crucial.
The three men are described as being between 25 and 40 years old, and their distinctive clothing descriptions offer a potential lead for eagle-eyed residents:
-
Suspect #1: Last seen in an off-white sweatsuit with the word “Essentials” prominently displayed, white sneakers, a multicolored hat, and a black face mask.
-
Suspect #2: Described as wearing a gray sweatsuit, a white t-shirt, white sneakers, and a black face mask.
-
Suspect #3: Wore all black clothing, a black face mask, and glasses.
Despite the clear video evidence and detailed descriptions, there have been NO ARRESTS yet. The clock is ticking to bring these perpetrators to justice and restore a sense of safety to the South Bronx.
