July 11, 2025 East Harlem, NYC – A burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of East Harlem on Thursday night, sending three adults to the hospital with gunshot wounds and causing a 3-year-old child to suffer minor injuries from a fall during the chaos. The New York City Police Department (NYPD) confirmed the incident, which occurred just before 9 p.m. at 216 East 122nd Street.
Responding to a frantic 911 call reporting multiple people shot, officers arrived on the scene to find a harrowing situation.
Victims Identified, Condition Stable
Among the injured were a 25-year-old woman, who sustained a gunshot wound to her right ankle, and a 33-year-old man, struck in his right leg. Both victims were transported to Metropolitan Hospital and are reported to be in stable condition.
A third shooting victim, a 36-year-old man also with a gunshot wound to his right leg, was taken to Lincoln Hospital, where he is also listed in stable condition.
Child Injured Amidst Panic
In a separate but related incident, a 3-year-old child was also transported to Lincoln Hospital. The young boy sustained minor injuries from a fall, according to police. A witness at the scene indicated the child was walking with his parents in the neighborhood when the gunfire erupted, likely leading to the fall in the ensuing panic.
Investigation Underway, No Arrests Yet
As of Friday morning, the NYPD has made no arrests in connection with the shooting. The identity of the attacker remains unknown, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. The investigation is ongoing.
