October 15, 2025 BROOKLYN, NY—A brazen daylight shooting rocked the East New York section of Brooklyn on Monday, leaving a young man with a bullet wound and police scrambling to track down the fleeing gunman.
The incident unfolded at approximately 3:00 p.m. at the busy intersection of Saratoga Avenue and Livonia Avenue. A 24-year-old male was reportedly struck in the right thigh when an as-yet unidentified suspect opened fire on the street.
The victim was quickly transported from the scene to One Brooklyn Health – Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center via private vehicle. Authorities have confirmed that he is currently listed in stable condition.
The Scene and the Search
According to preliminary reports from the New York City Police Department (NYPD), the shooter fled the location on foot immediately following the attack and remains at large. Officers from the 73rd Precinct secured the scene, where they recovered multiple shell casings as physical evidence.
Detectives are actively involved in the investigation, focusing on key questions central to any shooting probe: establishing the motive for the attack and determining whether the victim was the intended target.
Ongoing Investigation and Public Appeal
As of this report, no arrests have been made. The NYPD has not released a description of the suspect.
