January 28, 2026 Happy Wednesday! If you’ve spent the first few weeks of 2026 feeling like your dating apps are just a digital waiting room for nothing, you aren’t alone. We’ve entered a new era. At Liv Sparks University, we’re calling it the Great Recalibration.
The days of "playing it cool" are buried in 2025. This year, the most attractive quality you can possess isn't a high-status job or a curated grid—it’s Clarity.
Step 1: Master "Clear-Coding"
Have you ever spent three weeks texting someone only to find out they "aren't looking for anything serious right now"? That ends today. Clear-Coding is the practice of boldly stating your intentions before the first drink is poured.
Whether you are looking for a lifelong partner, a consistent casual connection, or a "solo partnership" where you prioritize your own growth while dating, say it. In 2026, ambiguity is an "ick." Transparency is the ultimate flex.
Liv’s Take: If they run away because you were honest about wanting a relationship, let them run. They were never going to be your person anyway. You didn't "scare them off"; you just filtered them out.
Step 2: The In-Person Pivot
We are seeing a massive "Digital Detox" in the NYC dating scene. Singles are trade-marking the In-Person Pivot. This means moving from the app to the "real world" within 48 hours of matching.
But it goes deeper than that. People are meeting at running clubs in Central Park, pottery-making mixers in Brooklyn, and "flirting parties" hosted in living rooms. We are reclaiming the "Meet-Cute."
Inclusion is the New Standard
This movement isn't just for one group; it’s universal. From the LGBTQ+ community to those exploring "Second-Chapter Love" in their 50s, the demand for Emotional Safety is the common thread. We are all tired of the "ghostlighting" (ghosting + gaslighting). We want partners who show up, look us in the eye, and stand for something.
The Assignment: The 48-Hour Challenge
This week, I want you to apply the 48-Hour Rule. If you match with someone you like:
