April 4, 2026 BROOKLYN, NY The frantic, multi-state manhunt for the man who helped snatch the life of a 7-month-old infant is over.

On Friday afternoon, the long arm of the law finally caught up with 18-year-old Matthew Rodriguez in Pennsylvania. Rodriguez had been a marked man since Wednesday, when a broad-daylight shooting in East Williamsburg left a family shattered and a city in mourning.

The Escape and the Capture

Rodriguez didn't just walk away from the scene; he ran—straight across state lines.

According to high-level sources, Rodriguez was the man behind the handlebars of the moped used in the execution-style hit near Humboldt and Moore Streets. While his alleged partner in crime, 21-year-old Amuri Greene, was pinned down at the scene following a crash, Rodriguez managed to vanish.

His freedom was short-lived. NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch’s promised "extensive manhunt" tracked him to the Keystone State, where he is currently sitting in a cell awaiting extradition back to New York to face the music.

A Mother’s Nightmare at 1:20 p.m.

The details of the crime are nothing short of demonic. On April 1, little Kaori Patterson-Moore was doing what any baby should be doing on a Wednesday afternoon: enjoying a stroll with her mother.

That peace was shattered when two men on a moped pulled up. A single, cold-blooded shot was fired. It struck Kaori in the head while she sat in her stroller. Despite the "frantic efforts" of her parents and horrified bystanders to keep her alive, the infant took her last breath at Woodhull Hospital.

"Heartbroken, horrified... it’s nothing you can imagine, the deep hurt," sobbed Linda Oyinkonyan, Kaori’s grandmother.

The Charges Are In

While Rodriguez waits for his plane ride back to Brooklyn, his accomplice is already facing the consequences. Amuri Greene was officially hit with multiple counts of murder on Friday. Greene didn't get far on Wednesday; the duo crashed their moped just two blocks from the shooting. Greene was thrown from the bike and captured while lying in a hospital bed.
