Bronx, NY - Authorities are currently investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Wednesday afternoon in the Bronx. Police responded to a call reporting an assault at 3370 Baychester Avenue at approximately 3:46 p.m.

According to police reports, the incident transpired outside the Baychester Avenue residence. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a 39-year-old man who had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest.

The victim was immediately transported to Jacobi Hospital for medical treatment. Tragically, police have confirmed that the man was pronounced dead at the hospital.
