July 4, 2025 BRONX, N.Y. – A horrifying incident in Co-Op City has led to the arrest and indictment of a man accused of the brutal rape of a 15-year-old girl. Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark announced Thursday that Casmine Aska, 29, faces a litany of charges, including predatory sexual assault against a child, rape, and sexual abuse.
The alleged attack, which unfolded in February 2025, began in an apartment building elevator. Security footage reportedly shows Aska punching the young victim in the face, causing her to collapse. When the elevator doors opened, Aska allegedly brandished a knife, forcing the terrified teenager into a stairwell within the building where the sexual assault occurred.
District Attorney Clark condemned the alleged actions, stating, “This is a nightmare for the young victim who was viciously assaulted by the defendant. He allegedly punched her, overpowered her, and took her at knifepoint into a stairwell and raped her. This defendant will now face justice for this heinous act.”
Following the assault, the victim received treatment at a local hospital for her injuries. Aska is also charged with criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child. He is scheduled to appear in court again in September.
