July 6, 2025 BRONX, N.Y. – A terrifying incident unfolded in the South Bronx last month when a 55-year-old man was assaulted and robbed inside his own apartment building after entering with two unidentified individuals. The brazen attack, which occurred in the early hours of Friday, June 6, highlights ongoing concerns about residential safety in the borough.

What Happened?

According to police reports, the victim was ambushed shortly after 12:44 a.m. inside a residential building located near East 162nd Street and Courtlandt Avenue. After the man entered the premises with the two suspects, he was shoved to the ground and repeatedly punched. The assailants then forcibly stole an undisclosed amount of cash and the victim’s medical card before fleeing the scene on foot.

Victim's Condition and Suspect Descriptions

Authorities confirmed that the victim suffered minor injuries but did not require hospitalization. While no surveillance footage has been released to the public, police have provided descriptions of the two suspects:

  • Suspect 1: Described as a male with a dark complexion and black hair. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, gray shorts, black socks, black sandals, and carrying a black backpack.
  • Suspect 2: Described as a male with a light complexion and black hair. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, black sneakers, and a black surgical mask.
