December 26, 2025 The bustling intersection of 86th Street and 4th Avenue is usually the heartbeat of Bay Ridge shopping, but a disturbing summer encounter has left the community on edge as police scramble to identify a predator hiding in plain sight.

A Walk to Remember for All the Wrong Reasons

It was a typical Saturday afternoon on August 9. At approximately 1:10 p.m., while the weekend crowds were out in full force, a 16-year-old girl was targeted in a brazen display of aggression.

According to investigators, the teenager was approached by a stranger who didn't just stop at words. In a shocking violation, the man allegedly grabbed the girl's chest and attempted to force a kiss on her. Before onlookers could intervene or the victim could process the trauma, the assailant vanished into the Brooklyn crowds, fleeing in an unknown direction.

The Face of the Suspect: A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing?

What makes this case particularly chilling is the description of the man the NYPD is currently hunting. Far from the typical image of a street criminal, police are looking for a man who could easily be mistaken for a neighborhood grandfather.

The NYPD has released the following description:

  • Age: Approximately 70 to 80 years old

  • Build: Slender, standing about 5 feet 5 inches tall

  • Appearance: Light-skinned male with distinctive gray hair

  • Last Seen Wearing: A monochromatic outfit of a gray shirt, gray pants, and black shoes

The Investigation Deepens

While the young victim was fortunately not physically injured, the psychological toll of such a bold midday assault is immeasurable. The NYPD’s Crime Stoppers unit has been working the case since August, but the trail has gone cold, and they are now turning to the public to bring this individual to justice.

In a neighborhood known for its tight-knit community and family-oriented streets, the idea of an 80-year-old predator roaming free is a bitter pill to swallow.
