January 23, 2026 BROOKLYN, NY It happened in a flash, in a place thousands of New Yorkers pass through every single day.
What started as a routine commute home for one man at the 79th Street D train station in Bensonhurst ended in a hospital bed—and now, the hunt is on for two attackers who didn't say a word before unleashing a wave of violence.
The Ambush: No Warning, No Mercy
On the evening of December 6, 2025, around 7 p.m., a man was simply trying to exit the station. He never saw them coming.
According to police, two strangers crept up behind him in total silence. Without a demand for money or a single threat, they grabbed him by the neck and slammed him to the concrete. What followed was a "vicious pummeling"—the duo took turns kicking and punching the victim as he desperately struggled to protect himself on the station floor.
The Great Escape
Once the attackers had the victim's wallet, they vanished into the Brooklyn night.
While the victim was rushed to Maimonides Medical Center in stable condition, the nightmare didn't end there. The suspects immediately attempted to drain the man's bank accounts using his credit cards, though their attempts were ultimately unsuccessful.
